About Laura (Beaudin) Lakhian*

I recently completed my Master’s of Science (MSc) degree in the Cognitive Science of Language program at McMaster University.

My research, at the intersection of linguistics and communication studies, examines which discourse strategies lead to successful apologies, and which strategies make apologies fall flat.

(As a Canadian, it sometimes feels almost too stereotypical to study apologies, but who better than a Canadian to study this stuff?)

When I’m not talking way too much about language and linguistics, I am usually baking.
